I got this today hoping all that was wrong with my connection was a new modem needed. Seems to have been the case. Uploading a youtube with no dropped connection and going VERY fast on Comcast cable. I read many reviews on here and took notes. I got mixed signals about how to activate modem with Comcast internet. In fact, Comcast gave me MISinformation about how to do it when I sent an inquiry. THEY said to talk to someone in chat. I did. Connection dropped. Tried again. Ok gave second person information they were ready to activate me. I was using old modem to talk to this dude. HE told me connect the new and he would then activate me. BAD IDEA. Connected new and all was dead. Restarted my iMac. Clicked on browser and was taken to Comcast to ACTIVATE this fine modem. SIMPLE. Did not need to chat with anyone. DUH! The modem itself is FINE. It is small very compact very light. A little warm but hey give it air. It is VERY efficient. I just threw some stuff at it to see how hard it can work and it is going very very nice. If you DO have Comcast as an ISP, plug this in and restart your computer and see what happens. Should work fine with an easy set up.

I order the original/first S10-HD took me about a week to figure out which one of the ear buds made the unit sound better since the sound is not the best out there but features, battery life and responsiveness are excellent. I had it for almost a year until the Forward/Rewind and Volume buttons started to fail. One day they were working and the next one didn't, then after that the power button on the unit was unresponsive.



I don't know if it was because of the sweet or because the unit hit its limit of use (less than a year about 8 months started to see problems with it). One thing I have to say and it is why I am writing this review, is that Motorola costumer service was very pleasant and I was able to receive another unit (the red S10HD). I notice in the new S10HD that the buttons feel as if they were of a better quality and bigger, which makes it easy to control while you are running on the treadmill or hitting the weights. The unit overall looks better then the first one because of the black shiny part and the red accents and looks sportier. sound quality seems a bit better and bit louder (maybe is me). I have not tried the battery life yet but if it is the same as the original S10HD it should be about 8+ hours of use which for me is more then I need.



In conclusion, get this unit if you workout indoors, or if you are in a place that there is no loud sounds interrupting while you are listening to your tunes because as pointed out by many other reviewers the volume won't go too high and the sound quality is not the best but OK. For the purpose of exercising and having a hands free/no cables getting on the way of your workouts experience, it is worth it. My only complaint is that I wish the volume would go higher and that the sound quality was better.



Note: this unit may not fit some people out there it might be too small however, the unit is flexible which makes it an easy fit for many. It fits me perfectly no pinching or discomfort after hours of use.

I have the Jawbone ERA paired to two different phones simultaneously, and I can honestly say this Bluetooth is by far the best hands free device I have ever used, bar none. I have a Motorola Droid Bionic Verizon phone and a Samsung T528G prepaid Straight Talk phone. The Jawbone ERA connects to both phones in a split second after being turned on and I have had no problems with it not connecting or losing "pair" with either phone. It's by far the loudest Bluetooth I've ever used and also the easiest to use. I answer calls with a double tap on the back of the ERA and it answers the call every time (you can also tap the button on it to answer as well, whatever you choose is easier for you will work).

But to digress for a moment, I think the success with this unit--as with any unit--must be related to the phone it's paired with because I see a lot of iphone users complaining about problems, and I think it is related to the iphone and not the Jawbone models. Seems to hold true for all the Jawbone models. But that's what you get for being an iphone user! I personally hate the iphone and don't see what all the hype is about, cuz they ain't that great, but that's just me.

Any way, back to the Jawbone ERA, I love how my sexy female voice (downloaded from the mytalk web site for free to replace the stock voice) tells me how much talk time I have left, or announces the name or phone number of a caller so I don't have to pick up either phone to see who is calling (if you import your contacts on the mytalk web site, you can have up to 20 of your contacts that you've specifically chosen announced by name instead of number). And while on a call I have yet to have anyone complain about not being able to hear me or to complain about background noise, and I have had no problems hearing any callers...except the ones with garbage phones or hands free headset that you can never understand what they're saying, which is not a fault of the ERA.

There's not much else to say except how awesome this Jawbone Bluetooth headset is. I'm using one of the provided earpieces with the wing thingy on it, but I'm seriously thinking about investing in a custom molded earpiece from Averysound.com or custom-ears.com. A custom molded earpiece would just be icing on the cake for this Bluetooth headset (so I've read...but take note, a custom molded earpiece isn't cheap, and will run you almost as much if not more than the Bluetooth itself, but from what I've read is well worth the investment in comfort and performance) and now that I have used this Jawbone ERA for a while now and know it is a keeper for life, I just may go for it. After all, there's nothing better in life than a bluetooth that doesn't piss you off :-)

I have had this item for 2 weeks. I use it everyday going to and from work, which is a 30-45 min drive each way. At the end of the week I bring the unit in to charge it (I have a USB/Socket adapter, not included). The FM transmitter is the most powerfull one I have ever seen, and I have owned 3 fm transmitters (including one from the C. Crane company which specializes in radios). This one transmitter broadcasts halfway across the house to the home stereo with crystal clear reception. The ticket is finding an open signal I use (105.1 fm). The directions explain how to change the frequency from the default setting. Also, I wanted to point out that this unit does allow you you make hands free voice calls, which contradicts what some others have said in their reviews. You hold down the call button for approx 2 to 3 seconds the unit beeps and says speak now. It doesn't get anymore easy. Again this is all explained in the directions. You would think people would read the directions before they start saying a unit does or doesn't have a certain option. This was a fantastic deal for $55.00 and I am very happy that I purchased it. I stream pandora over it, and listen to podcasts and if someone calls can answer the phone. Just like an after market Sync!! I've already recommended it to my parents, friends, sibblings, and I recommend it to you!
